I’m giving it serious thought. I had, when I closed Bibliophile, a rather ambitious idea for another TCG in mind, but that has since fallen through the cracks. I’ve been thinking lately that it may be time to resurrect and rethink both TCGs, and see if there isn’t a way I might combine them each.

I was browsing through the archives at The TCGs. earlier today, and saw a post in which there had actually been call for me to reopen the TCG. That, and the sweet comments several of my former members made to in my closing post, along with my general excess of free time lately have all gotten me thinking again.

Now, keeping in mind that I’m on dial-up, and so this would likely have to be, at the start, a much smaller scaled TCG than Bibliophile ended up being… Is the interest there? Are there still die-hard members who would welcome this TCG and the chance to be a part of its reincarnation? Or am I just talking into thin air? Comments appreciated, so long as you’re not a spambot.

So, rather than sporadic updates, and lots of guilt over not being more on top of things, I’ve decided to close it down. Its not the only online activity I’m paring down, but this one bothers me the most. Bibliophile, for awhile, was quite a passion of mine, and I’m so glad that so many of you shared it with me. I think we had fun, while it lasted, and maybe in the future I’ll find the time again…

But until then, I’ll leave you with my apology and my hope that the time you had here was fun for you. If you should feel a need/desire to contact me, my personal email is kaodneal -AT- gmail -DOT- com. I think everyone can figure out what to edit away in that.

I’m sorry for the craptastic past few months, and thanks to everyone who still checks in now and again, hoping that I’ve gotten off my bum and done something.

I’m going to put Bibliophile on hiatus - again. Until after the first of the year. It’s coming back, I have no intention of closing Bibliophile down - I just need some time to get things squared away both here and in RL, and with the holidays fast approaching, I know I’m just going to get busier. I hope you can all understand, and I hope to see you all as members when we return next year!

And wow! History is hard this round, huh? Only 8 of you guessed at all - and only 4 of you got it right! So, since I’ve been so out of it lately, those of you who got it wrong may guess again immediately, and will get another extra chance if you’re wrong again. Good luck!

Harvest Festival: Will be coming… Soon. I’ll try to get as much stuff together as possible for you all to enjoy, to make up for my lapse last holiday.

Some of you may have noticed my lack of enthusiasm for updating lately. When Bibliophile first started, I updated consistently (whether I was injured, sick, tired, or trapped in a burning building - well, alright, maybe not that last). Lately, though, I’ve been REALLY busy with RL. So. Jewelie agreed to help me out with Mastery & Level Up & various other chores. Ain’t she sweet? But I need another helper. Heh. You’d get paid, of course, and the job(s) really not very difficult. I want someone to answer the Lucky Dip & History forms. Now, those are both in Game Set C, so you’d have a busier time of it at the end of the month, when those games are updated, but both forms entail only sending out card rewards (or, in the case of History, telling people they have the wrong answer). You don’t need to log who answered what, who won what, when they won it or anything like that. So. If anyone’s interested, let me know.

Also, the game update that was scheduled for today will (not surprisingly) be delayed. I’m going to bribe hubby to update my pages for me, since I can’t type them without massive pain, but he’s not familiar with coding at all so it’ll be slow going. I just wanted to let you all know that things ARE being worked on, and I will get to all your forms as I can - and I hope the freebies will keep you happy until I can get the superfun games going.

Maybe a harvest festival week around Thanksgiving, since I wasn’t able to do Halloween up like I’d wanted?

Also, some (most) of you may know I’ve been relegated to the horrors of dial-up these past few months. That may be changing soon! We’ve (hubby, child & myself) been in negotiations on a bigger house and if it happens I’ll be back on my dsl within a couplefew weeks! When I can get back on a faster connection, more things will be happening around here (as well as more activity enforcement, for the members who go for months on end without updating their trade posts. So. Yay!

Finally: Since I was two days late with this update, you may all visit the randomizer and take two of the regular (worth 1) cards that show up there!

Level Ups, Masteries, Novel stuff, everything in my inbox will be getting answered within the next few days, as I have time.

Also, contests have been judged - all contests are on indefinite hold until there’s enough member interest to warrant them. This includes Illustrate It, Authors Among Us, and all other contests that I had lined up. I’m getting a steady 10% member participation, and I have to beg each time for that, so… Eh.

Button voting has been extended til October 15th.

Exciting news: Jewelie has agreed to take over the answering of all Puzzle Mastery, Card Set Mastery, Level Up, and Book Shop forms. So. If you’ve already sent one in, I’ll be answering it within the next few days, and anything sent in from now on will shoot straight over to her (provided I’ve not muddled the coding at all), and should be answered in a more timely manner. Yay, Jewelie.

Game Update: Yes, okay! All of group C has been updated EXCEPT Jaron Juggle, which will be attended to shortly. Expect that one up no later than tomorrow night. Lottery numbers have been drawn. Contest pages have been updated, and there is now a voting poll on the Button, Button page - go and pick your favorite buttons! Rubbish Bin has been updated, too.

Regarding Member List Pruning: If your name was removed from the members’ list, it was because your trade post was grossly outdated, and I had received no contact from you in a very long time. Don’t email me and tell me that you’ve really been active but forgot to upload your page, have a log saved somewhere for uploading at a future date, or have been sick and couldn’t get online, or got hacked, or got lost in Shipshewanna (that actually happened to me once). Won’t make any difference. The members who are active deserve to have a list of other members who are active - and not a list of people who meant to be active sometime in the future. If you want to rejoin, that’s fine - feel free to do so, you won’t be penalized for having been removed once. But don’t mail me asking to have your old level/cards/whatever restored. Your cards have gone into the Rubbish Bin, and that’s that.

Donations: Have not been posted in forever and a half, I know and I’m very sorry. I’ll be working on them throughout the afternoon/evening.

Card Sets: Are coming! Either tonight or tomorrow (depending on when I run out of steam), I’ll be releasing a slew of new card sets. I’ll put them in another update, so don’t worry about missing them. I’ll make sure you don’t.

Contests: Deadlines are approaching! The 15th of the month, folks, and I’ve gotten one entry (thank you, Danae Cassandra) for this round of Authors Among Us. It should be fun, people! You get to use ‘thees’ and ‘thous’ and ’st’s appended to every other word! C’mon! Fun! Really!

Seriously, though, if we don’t get any more participants, then Danae Cassandra gets the prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, plus extra goodies for being the only one brave enough to enter. I really want to hand out rewards, people, and it makes no difference to me if I’m handing them all out to one person, or splitting them up between several.

Collective, Build-A-Set - those are still going on and still have open spots, too. And look for a fresh round of Rubbish Bin… Next week, maybe? Not sure yet, but I’ve got lots of cards to put in it. So keep an eye out.

Button, Button and Illustrate It could use a few more entries, too, and those both close on the 15th as well.

No new card sets this week. I hate making card sets. I’ve got umpteen million donations sitting here waiting, and just haven’t made the sets yet. So, because I’m a slacker and that’s not your fault, you can all take a number 9 & a number 11 regular card of choice, a regular card of choice from a yellow or orange bordered set, and another regular card of choice (any number, any color) - and comment with what you’ve chosen.

Temp Job: First come, first served here. If you want to go through the members’ list (not the members on hiatus, but every active member) and make a list for me of the last dated entry in their trade log - its time to check inactivity again! First person to comment below that they want to/will do this for me gets some nice sort of card/currency/everlasting gratitude reward. Thanks.
