History: Literary to Cinematic

The object of this game is to determine which book-to-movie work I am referring to, and give me the title of the book/literary work. Periodically, I will release clues about this work below. Once per week, you can submit a guess as to the title of the book! The game ends when a correct answer has been given (meaning no more clues will be given out; if someone guesses it within the first week, you may continue to guess once a week until the game itself is updated).
